Mexican has always been one of my favorite cuisines, and now even more so thanks to this recipe! The recipe below is for Wonton Taco Cups. Not only is this recipe delicious, it is so quick and easy to make! These are also great for an appetizer or finger food for a party, but just as great for dinner paired with rice and beans.
Add a couple of garnishes – tomato, lettuce, sour cream and parsley for prettier tacos. : ) Below is the recipe we got from a friend. Let me know if you try these and how they turn out!
For a healthier option, you can make these with ground turkey or chicken! When making for a party, we like to set out a bar with our favorite toppings and let guests select their favorites – guacamole, onions, queso, etc.
Wonton Taco Cups:
Recipe yields approximately 30-40 taco cups.
1 bag of Wonton Wraps – (We used Nasoya – can be found in the refrigerated vegetable section)
1 lb Sausage or meat of your choice
3/4 cup water (per recipe on taco seasoning mix)
4 oz sour cream
1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
2-4 cups cheese (We used Mexican cheese blend)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Place wonton wrap in each muffin cup. Cook for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove wonton wraps from muffin pan and place on cookie sheet. (Repeat process until you have 30-40 wonton wraps ready to fill a cookie sheet.)
Brown meat in a skillet and drain. Add the taco seasoning mix and water called for on the taco seasoning packet.
In a separate bowl, mix dry ranch seasoning packet and sour cream.
Add meat to sour cream mixture and stir.
Add in cheese and stir.
Fill wonton wraps with meat mixture.
Add a sprinkle of cheese to the top for added deliciousness
Bake at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes until wonton wraps are golden brown and cheese melts.
Bonus – Add lightly shredded lettuce and chopped tomato for a mini taco.
