Simply the best sushi in Charlotte!
Pisces has an amazing assortment of sushi and hibachi items partnered with equally amazing service! There’s nothing that irks me more than a restaurant with amazing food but customer service that makes you never want to come back.
Looking over Pisces’ huge sushi menu can easily overwhelm someone (I know I felt that way the first couple of times). Luckily, I’m a bit of a regular at Pisces and know exactly what I want.
The spicy garlic edamame forever changed how I feel about edamame. It is amazing and served with a tangy, garlic Kimchi sauce. A fun twist on a classic dish. We love this sauce so much we ask for a side of it to dip our sushi in!
“I’ll have the Dynamite roll, the Screaming “O” roll and the Shellfish Bastard please.”
For those who don’t care for raw fish (like my husband), the Dynamite roll is a must have (and his go-to). It’s stuffed with perfectly tempura fried shrimp and topped with a light and fluffy baked crab salad & tempura crunchies.
Next up is their Screaming “O” roll. Now it’s no secret that I love tuna – the Screaming “O” roll features an absolutely incredible cut of spicy tuna and that delicious shrimp tempura. It’s topped with (wait for it) more seared tuna, jalapenos and their secret screaming “o” sauce! Mmmm. Mmmm. MMMM! I can taste it now!
Finally (and certainly not least), the Shellfish Bastard brings it all home for me. Shrimp AND crab tempura. Avocado. Topped with perfectly baked scallops, their incredible baked crab salad, chili oil (which isn’t too spicy) and fried onions! I mean come on. Fried onions?!? Whoever decided to put fried onions on a sushi roll deserves a medal of honor. Thank you.
The hibachi dishes are wonderful. I always show up at Pisces planning to get sushi, but the second I look at their menu I immediately get a craving for their hibachi! I especially love the shrimp which are cooked to perfection every time and seasoned with just a touch of lemon for a perfect flavor. If I’m lucky, I can convince my husband to split one hibachi dish with me, while we each order a roll (or two) of sushi.
At this point you may be full, but I live by the rule that my dessert compartment is never full. Split the Green Tea Fried Oreo dessert for a dessert experience like no other! This unlikely combination includes tempura fried Oreos served warm and melt in your mouth with a deliciously unique green tea ice cream!
